Oil and Gas Research and Design Institute


Azerikimya’s research and development activities are carried out by the Oil and Gas Research and Design Institute (Neftqazelmitedqiqatlayihe), established on July 20, 2009, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan aimed at improving the company’s structure. The Institute was formed through the merger of the former Scientific Research Institute and the Oil and Gas Project Institute
Core Activities
The Institute performs:
  • Geological and geophysical research
  • Exploration, development, and production planning of discovered oil and gas fields
  • Design and engineering of oil, gas, and petrochemical processing facilities
Research and Engineering Capabilities
Large-scale research is conducted in:
  • Field development and optimization
  • Drilling technologies and well operation
  • Design of petrochemical and oil and gas processing facilities
The Institute includes:
  • 19 laboratories
  • 50 structural units
  • A geological data fund
  • A centralized printing house

Notable Project
One of the Institute’s recent achievements was the preparation of engineering reports and the development and evaluation of technical parameters for installing the support block of the Karabakh oil field jacket in 2020.
