Oil and Gas Construction Trust

Oil and Gas Construction Trust
The Oil and Gas Construction Trust of AZERIKIMYA is a leading engineering and construction organisation specialising in offshore and onshore oil and gas infrastructure. The Trust performs large-scale construction, installation and maintenance works that support the development and reliability of energy infrastructure.
The organisation traces its history to two major construction enterprises — Azerbaijan Offshore Oil Construction (1949) and Caspian Oil and Gas Construction (1979) — and continues their legacy as their legal successor. These foundations reflect decades of engineering experience and innovation in the oil and gas sector.
Engineering HeritageThe history of offshore construction in Azerbaijan is closely connected with the development of the Oil Rocks field in the Caspian Sea, the world’s first offshore oil production site. In 1949, large-scale construction works were carried out to build artificial islands, platforms and marine infrastructure covering more than 8 hectares, enabling offshore production, processing and transportation of oil to the mainland.
This pioneering engineering achievement marked a milestone in global offshore oil development and laid the foundation for modern offshore construction in the region
The Oil and Gas Construction Trust provides a full range of services across the oil and gas value chain.
Key activities include:
Construction of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities
Installation and repair of technological equipment and Construction of pipelines, terminals and compressor stations
Development and improvement of oil and gas fields
Construction of industrial, civil and social infrastructure and Construction of hydraulic structures, offshore platforms and marine facilities
Advanced Technology and Innovation

AZERIKIMYA’s Oil and Gas Construction Trust prioritises the application of modern engineering methods and advanced construction technologies.

Production and construction processes utilise technological equipment manufactured in Germany, the United States, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria, ensuring high efficiency and compliance with international standards.

The Trust also introduced semi-automatic and automatic welding technologies for pipeline construction — an innovation that significantly advanced the national oil and gas construction industry. Advanced Technology and Innovation

Operational StructureThe Trust operates through a network of specialised departments, including:
Seven construction and installation departments
Specialised repair and construction department
Reinforced concrete production department
Warehousing and logistics department
Welding inspection and testing department
International representation in Georgia
This integrated structure enables the Trust to deliver complex engineering projects efficiently and reliably.
Major Infrastructure Projects Over the years, the Trust has delivered a number of strategically important projects in the energy sector, including:
  • Construction of Garadagh Underground Gas Storage
  • Construction of gas and naphtha pipelines between the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery and Ethylene-Propylene Plant
  • Reconstruction of offshore platforms at Bulla-Deniz, Gunashli and Oil Rocks fields
  • Construction of Baku Shipyard
  • Development of infrastructure for the Gas-Turbine Power Plant
  • Construction of several stationary and deep-water offshore platforms
In 2020, the Trust completed the construction of Compressor Station No.3 at the Galmaz Underground Gas Storage, increasing active gas storage capacity from 1 BCM to 1.5 BCM and raising daily output capacity from 10 MMCM to 13 MMCM.
