Environmental monitoring

Environmental monitoring is the scientific basis for controlling harmful gases, liquids, and solid wastes released into the environment due to natural and human activities. It involves regular observations and analyses of chemical composition, contamination levels, radioactive, hydro-biological, and physical properties to assess and forecast the condition of air, water, and soil.
Ecological monitoring is regulated by international conventions (Oslo-Paris, Tehran), the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Environmental Protection,” relevant state regulations, and AZERIKIMYA’s Environmental Policy, which defines priorities in environmental safety and efficient use of natural resources.

Environmental monitoring in AZERIKIMYA is carried out according to a structured plan and includes:
  • comprehensive environmental monitoring;
  • operational monitoring.
Monitoring activities are conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Environmental Monitoring Department of Ekol Engineering Services CJSC. The department includes field research teams and a modern laboratory equipped for analytical studies, staffed by experienced and specially trained professionals.
The monitoring covers offshore and onshore oil and gas fields, processing and petrochemical facilities, and production areas operated under joint ventures and agreements. Operational monitoring includes regular visual inspections of environmental impacts and is conducted annually according to approved schedules.
AZERIKIMYA’s monitoring program includes:
  • Air, water, and soil monitoring
    .
  • Monitoring of physical impacts and waste
